Flipping with Dave Short

February 9

Local real estate guru Dave Short will take you through the process of flipping a house – starting with finding the property to financing it to selling your investment. Learn how to find and purchase foreclosures, including HUD, auction and bank-owned REO properties. Also learn the ins and outs of how foreclosures, tax and sheriff sales work. Dave will explain how to find a partner and structure partnerships. He will share secrets of rehabbing a house and “out of the box” flipping – what kind of “new” opportunities are presenting themselves to investors. Finally, make note of his tips on selling the flip and how you can cut your marketing time in half!

Dave has worked in the real estate market for more than 36 years, listing and selling more than 320 million dollars of residential real estate in Greater Indianapolis. He has worked with many banks and mortgage companies to sell their bank-owned properties (REO). Additionally, he has managed and owned more than 100 single family homes in the past 20 years. In the past 24 months alone, he has flipped and wholesaled 50 properties in the Indianapolis area. Dave’s experience has led him to be a mentor to many investors in the Indianapolis area. He is the currently the CIREIA Membership Director, has been a member of MIBOR for 36 years and is a member of Indiana Real Estate Exchangers (IREX).

For more than two decades, Central Indiana Real Estate Investors Association (CIREIA) has been the largest non-profit real estate investor group in Indiana.

Misson Statement: CIREIA exists to provide quality education and networking for real estate investors and to promote ethics and integrity within the profession and throughout the community.

What Our Members are saying about CIREIA:

“Maximizing profit on my investment properties means "thinking at the margin".  For example, can I maximize cash flow from this property by charging $25 more per month for allowing pets?  Or, instead of installing a washer/dryer can I get $10 more per month by renting the units to the tenants?

My membership in CIREIA isn't just thinking at the margin--in fact, it is DEAD CENTER in my investment strategy.  Only at CIREIA can I get up-to-date legal advice, modern marketing ideas that have been vetted and proven to work by other active investors, and most importantly, get a continuing 'feel' for what is going on locally in the investment community.

The cost of my membership is the only expense I look forward to paying each year as the benefits outweigh the cheap price of admission.  Each month.  Every month.”

Dan Baldini

“The benefits of my CIREIA membership have proven invaluable.  From it I have formed business relationships with vendors who have become members of my team as well as gained valuable knowledge from other members and speakers who come to the club.  I have realized that it is essential to be around other like minded individuals.  CIREIA provides a vehicle for this.”
